What is your current Job Application Process?

Prepare a profile on the Job Portal and upload a common resume. Search for available job vacancies and apply for them. Then wait for recruiters to shortlist our resume and call us for interview.

Right?

But can you recollect how many job interview call did you receive out of 100 jobs that you applied last time. Perhaps 10 or even less, right?

There can be some other common reasons like -

  • Applying to job without considering the qualifying criteria of recruiter

  • Incorrect or old contact details in resume and jobsite

  • Applying blindly to irrelevant job postings etc.


Hence it is very important to focus on all the important aspects like –

  • Updated and customized Resume as per the Job Description of Recruiter

  • Updating latest and correct contact details in Job Portal and Resume

  • Applying to relevant jobs only after carefully analyzing there qualifying criteria

  • Updating resume from recruiters perspective and not just your own after carefully understanding that what recruiter is looking for in you

  • Including the important and trending keywords related to your role and industry in your resume

A Professional Resume is always an altering document, which develops over the period of time, during your career, so keep revising and refining it after its first draft and keep its diverse versions with you as you move forward in your preferred career.

Did you know that on average an employer or Recruiter takes only 8-10 seconds to screen your Resume and Job Application Cover Letter before considering an applicant to either be shortlisted for a pre-screen telephone interview or not. Sometimes it can be even less than this. That is not a lot of time at all to create a first impression on a piece of paper. Hence make sure it contains the keywords preferred or mentioned by employer in the Job posting.

You must always address the key selection criteria for the role that you are applying for.
